About Enhance Mental Health and Community Services
Enhance Mental Health and Community Services was founded in 2025 by Lori (Lorraine) Kendall. After almost 20 years as a social worker, about 15 of which were in clinical roles, Lori realized it was time to expand her reach from her local mental health organization to across the State of Minnesota.
Lori’s generalist social work experience includes being a child and family development specialist for a community action organization in the Head Start program in Ramsey County. Lori had the privilege to support school staff to educate low-income preschoolers and to assist their families in meeting their most basic needs. Lori then moved on to work as a contracted child protection social work for the Domestic Violence Response Team (DVRT) in Olmsted County. Upon receiving her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from St. Catherine’s University/the University of St. Thomas in 2010, Lori began employment in inpatient medical social work at Mayo Clinic.
Primary inpatient areas of experience include cardiology, general surgery, orthopedics and trauma surgery. Lori had the privilege of providing social-emotional support to patients and their families at times of high stress and physical uncertainty.
When the opportunity was presented, Lori transitioned to working in rural Minnesota providing psychotherapy to children, adults and families. After many years of direct practice, Lori began taking on clinical supervision responsibilities, ultimately ending up in the role of Training Supervisor at a community mental health center. As the training supervisor, Lori updated policies and procedures, developed new internship and job shadowing processes, provided direct clinical and treatment supervision to staff, and supported other clinical staff in enhancing their supervision skills. This position also afforded Lori the opportunity to be involved in developing and implementing new policies and procedures across the community mental health organization.
Through these multiple and varied social and human service-related roles and leadership opportunities, Lori is uniquely situated to provide training, supervisor or consultation from the perspective of one who has been in the field for many years. This professional experience has been enhanced by Lori's love of learning led her to obtain her Doctor of Social Work degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
